The SCO is located on the third floor of Science Hall (red on the map below). This historic red-brick building is at 550 North Park Street, at the intersection of North Park and Langdon Streets. Science Hall also houses the University of Wisconsin's Department of Geography, Geography Library, Robinson Map Library and the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. Science Hall is across Park Street from the Memorial Union and the State Historical Society Library.
There are two 25-minute parking meters located in a small parking lot directly behind the SCO. To access these, turn onto Observatory Drive from Park Street, the driveway entrance is to the immediate left. Other spots (2- to 3-hour meters) are available in the parking garage under Helen C. White Hall (adjacent to Memorial Union and across Observatory Drive from Science Hall) and in a public parking ramp on North Lake Street, about two blocks southeast of Science Hall.
Madison has a public bus system, and many of the routes pass nearby the office. Buses (like route 80) stop across the street from Science Hall, at the Memorial Union.
