Jim joined the SCO in 2004 as the Associate State Cartographer. He provides technical and managerial leadership for a wide variety of projects in our office, coordinates activities of the UW-Madison Spatial Information and Analysis Consortium (SIAC), and answers public inquiries on mapping-related topics. In addition, he coordinates many of our print and electronic publications, and serves as Editor for the Wisconsin Mapping Bulletin. He also has extensive technical expertise in internet-based mapping systems. Jim has a B.S. degree in Geography from UW-Green Bay, and a M.S in Cartography from UW-Madison. Prior to joining the SCO, he worked for the University of Nebraska, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and Ayres Associates. Jim also worked as a student project assistant for the SCO in the early 1990’s.
