Duration: Approximately March 4, 2013  to August 2, 2013

Job Description: This position will assist in a research evaluation of the Glacial Habitat Restoration Program. The position will use multiple scenes, dates, and years of LANDSAT satellite data along with ancillary GIS data layers in ArcGIS and remote sensing analysis software (ENVI or ERDAS) to produce a landcover data layer for a broad landscape in southeast Wisconsin (90% of duties). The resulting landcover layer will then be compared with 1990 landcover to quantify changes relating to grassland and wetland restoration (10% of duties).

Knowledge Required: Applicant should have college training in remote sensing.  Required experience working with ENVI or ERDAS remote sensing and ArcGIS software to integrate satellite raster data and perform classifications with ground-truth datasets, ability to interpret maps, and demonstrated organizational skills.  Desired experience in scientific research.
