Preliminary Program (12/31/2013)

Wisconsin's largest geospatial event is happening February 12-14 at the Marriot Madison West in Middleton, WI.  The annual Wisconsin Land Information Association (WLIA) event normally draw overs 400 mapping, GIS, and land information professionals.

 Keynote and plenary speakers this year include:

  • Scott Resnick, Vice President of Hardin Design & Development and Madison Alderman: “The Open Data – how releasing publicly held data can transform the places we live.”
  • Michael Terner, Executive Vice President of Applied Geographics, Inc:  “The Return of Choice in Geospatial: How open data, open source and a best of breed outlook create new opportunities.”
  • Paul Braun, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Continental Mapping Consultants will present “Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS), the Maker Movement, Crowd Sourced Fund Raising & The Social Good - Showcasing a sUAS Project and Its Impact on Geographic Literacy.”

The conference will be preceded by a series of full-day, half-day, and "mini" workshops on Wednesday February 12th.  In addition, Esri is offering a 2-day Python Workshop on February 11-12th.

WLIA is a grassroots organization representing a collection of concerned professionals working to develop, maintain, and apply a network of statewide land information systems. WLIA members include staff and elected officials (from all levels of government), academics, consultants, and other private sector users of geographic information systems.
