Layer Tools

legend legend The Viewer displays base layers by default. To make another layer already listed in the legend visible, select the layer and click the plus box to the left 'Layer Catalog'. To remove a layer from the legend completly, press the X button.

Certain operations may be performed on the "active" layer which are not possible on other layers. To make a layer active, click on the layer name.

To move an "active" layer up and down in the legend, use the arrow buttons.

To learn more about a specific layer, click on it's name in the layer catalog and select the 'i' button.


Map Tools

There are seven tools for navigating and querying the map:

1. Zoom Tools
legend legend To zoom in or out, click on either button and click the area on the map where you want to zoom.

legend Select this button to click and drag the mouse and zoom to a boxed area.

legend The full extent button will return the map to the original view.

2. Pan Tool
legend To initiate a drag pan, click the "pan" button. Then, click your mouse button somewhere within the map and, holding the button down, drag the map until the area you are interested in is visible in the viewing window.
