Job Summary:
CH2M is seeking a full time GIS PLANNING DATA ANALYST to join our growing team in Chicago, IL. CRT (a joint venture of CH2M, Teng & Asso. (exp U.S. Services), and Rise Engineering (ARCADIS, U.S.) provides program management services to Chicago Dept. Of Water Management (CDWM) in support of delivering their Capital Improvement Program (CIP). CTR provides planning, design, and construction management services for the water main that is replaced by CDWM. The primary responsibility for this position is to assist the Planning group with data review, analysis, geocoding, map making, and capital project identification. for the CDWM. This position will report to CTR’s Planning Manager and should be deadline driven and highly organized.
Duties:
• Utilize ESRI’s ArcGIS desktop for data analysis and creating presentation quality maps.
• Gather, create, analyze, integrate, and map spatial data. Determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS.
• Produce capital maps and reports to communicate data
• Analyze break, leak, and work order data and apply findings to capital project identification
• Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
• Communicate with coworkers as part of a team
• Assist with large annual mapping and reporting productions.
Required Qualifications:
• B.S. or B.A. degree in GIS, Geography, or other science-related field
• Two to four years of experience with data analysis and mapping using ArcGIS 10.2 desktop tools
• Experience using ESRI’s ArcGIS desktop and server told for data analysis and creating presentation-quality maps
• Able to communicate effectively and convey the impact of GIS/spatial information and analysis results with supervisor, co-workers and clients, including non-GIS people
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiar with data management, data sourcing, and understanding how to use and build data queries in both the desktop and database environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft tools including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
• Familiarity with water, sewer, or other utility data and information a plus.
