Job Summary:
The Environmental Compliance / GIS Associate will take a lead role in environmental responsibility and stewardship. This associate will be responsible for helping to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local environmental legal and other requirements. This associate will support development and implementation of our environmental management system in addition to the web and mobile applications that help streamline and ensure compliance, reduce risk and improve performance. Responsibilities will also include building a solid Geographical Information System (GIS) foundation that meets our needs now and helps prepare us for the future. This associate will serve as a resource to all BMC Associates and liaison between BMC and all regulatory agencies, customers, the public and other applicable stakeholders. Travel to plants, transloads, and project sites may be required based on various projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Information Technology, Engineering or science related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 year’s experience in industrial related environmental compliance preferred
- Ability to develop and help execute environmental compliance programs is critical in this role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of ESRI software (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online)
- Geology experience a plus
- Experience in developing and managing ISO 14001 is a plus
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally by attending conferences, taking on new projects, and continuing education
