POSITION SUMMARY:
Teach the already developed online course Geography 574 Spatial Databases for the GIS Professional Programs Division.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of ArcGIS is required, SQL, and Python required.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Java, other spatial technologies and other database types preferred.
- University/College-level teaching experience preferred.
- Professional work experience in the geospatial industry or for a GIS software company preferred.
DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:
- Minimum of Master’s Degree in Geography or a closely related field is required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Teach the online course Geography 574, Spatial Databases, in Fall (and potentially additional) Terms 2017. Follow the teaching guidelines and expectations outlined by the Director of the Online Master’s in GIS & Web Map Programming. Duties include reviewing course materials before they are assigned, holding online office hours, sending a weekly email to students, replying to student emails in less than 24 hours, participating in online discussions with students, and grading lab assignments.
