Lecturer in Geography – Geocomputing

POSITION SUMMARY:
Teach the online course Geography 378, Introduction to Geocomputing for the GIS Professional Programs Division.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• University/College-level teaching experience preferred.
• Professional work experience in the geospatial industry or for a GIS software company preferred.

DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:

• Minimum of Master’s Degree in Geography or a closely related field is required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Teach Geo 378, Introduction to Geocomputing. This class is an online class to no lecturing is required. Duties include reading previously created course materials, supervising TA, holding online office hours, corresponding by email with students, replying to student emails in a timely manner, and grading lab assignments.
