ISG is seeking a Land Surveyor to join our firm in our newly acquired Waterloo / Cedar Falls, IA office. Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, estimate project costs and communicate directly with clients.
- Perform fieldwork, drafting, record research, data analysis, document preparation, legal descriptions, plats and other aspects of Land Surveying.
- Collect quality survey data for maps, reports, and legal descriptions.
- Perform surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties based on field data, record documents & titles.
- Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines and other characteristics of terrain.
- Assist in the preparation of all data including charts, plots, maps, records any other documents related to surveying.
- Coordinate survey findings with survey, architectural and engineering staff.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of survey equipment used on job site and assist with training others when practical.
- Prepare field drawings and high quality notes of each project in the field book in accordance with company and general survey standards.
- Train assigned survey staff in the use of equipment and proper field techniques in order to promote their skills.
- Provide positive client/public relations as individuals are encountered in the field.
- Be a team player and be accountable to other members of the team to complete assigned tasks and recognize performance of team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or equivalent.
- Familiarity with survey hardware including Trimble, Leica, Topcon, etc.
- Must be currently registered as a LS or have the ability to be licensed within 6 months.
- Must have working knowledge of Robotic Total Stations, and GPS.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong communication, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills;
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel out of town for projects.
- Must be comfortable working outside.
- Proficiency in construction staking, performing ALTA, boundary and topographic surveys.
