Job Summary:
Ashland County will be accepting applications for the position of County Surveyor until 3:00 pm, May 31, 2018. Applications can be picked up at the Ashland County Administrator’s Office, 201 West Main Street, Room 102, Ashland, WI 54806.
Qualifications:
- Be a Wisconsin Professional Land Surveyor or be able to become registered within 6 months of employment
- Have a minimum of 2 years of formal education in land surveying and 2 years of land surveying experience or 8 years of land survey experience
- Have extensive experience in computer aided drafting, including the drawing of land surveys, plats, and civil engineering plans
- Good communication skills
- Hold a valid Wisconsin Drivers License or be able to receive one within one month of employment
- Experience in G.I.S. or related field is preferred
Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for the maintenance and preservation of all Public Land Survey Monuments within the County. The position is also responsible for indexing, filing, and maintaining survey records; assisting the public in search of boundary information; reviewing boundary surveys, Certified Surveys’ and Subdivision Plats for compliance with State Statutes and County Ordinances; and preparation of surveys or reports as directed by the County Administrator.
