Field Survey Technician

Job Summary:

We are offering a Field Survey Technician position in a well established surveying firm that specializes in commercial land surveying. We are looking for a motivated, flexible, self-started to work closely with other  team members on a crew and office staff to produce accurate and highly detailed land surveys. We specialist in ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, large scale design surveys (i.e. public and private schools, college and universities, hospitals, churches, major facilities, bank & lending institutions, etc.), site construction staking, FEMA surveys, Digital Terrain Models (DTM), etc.

Duties:

• Working in various places to prepare Boundary, Topographic, ALTA and Construciton layout surveys
• Extended hours while on site
• Will be obtaining field information and in sight to help prepare a survey of premises
• Operating Topcon GPS and Total Stations to collect site information
• Learning on the job from others with experience in surveying

Qualifications:

• Prior use & knowledge of survey grade GPS equipment (Total Stations is preferred, but not required)
• 2 years field surveying experience or Land Surveying degree preferred but not necessary. If applicant feels they have qualifying experience, we would entertain an opportunity to discuss that
• Positive mental attitude
• Basic math skills
• Enjoy working outside in all the elements year round
• Ability to work well with crew members and office personnel
• Basic computer knowledge and abilities
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Valid Class D drivers license
