Job Summary:
This position serves as a STN Geo-Editor for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT’ s) Location Control Management (LCM) Database consisting of: the Link-Site Database, the Reference Point Database, and the Road Chain Database; and the Interchange/Intersection Reference Point Aerial Photos within the Bureau of State Highway Programs.
This position performs the necessary maintenance to the LCM Database in order to maintain its currency. This position also assists in the development and implementation of enhancements to the LCM Database, develops and assists in the formulation of maintenance procedures, guidelines and standards; and develops and assists in the conversion and exchange of GIS data.
Qualifications:
Required
- Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to edit spatial and attribute data.
- Training or experience interpreting legal descriptions/documentation (i.e. Certified Survey Maps (CSM), subdivision plans, or construction plans) to translate into line work and polygons.
Preferred
- Training using ESRI ArcGIS or ArcPro software tools.
- Training or experience with the linear reference system and methods .
- Training or experience with Coordinate Geometry (CoGo) software.
