DESCRIPTION
Learn practical, on-the-job experience as a Survey Intern at Bolton & Menk with our Maplewood, Minnesota office.
As an intern you will spend the majority of your time working on survey crews with an experienced crew chief. You will assist with boundary surveys, construction staking, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and GPS data collection. The emphasis will be on construction staking with occasional time spent in the office performing general clerical and/or survey duties. You will get experience with Trimble, Robotic Total Station, and GPS equipment in this internship.
This position interacts with staff, land owners, contractors, and subcontractors. The selected candidates will be enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technician, Land Surveying or Survey Technician Degree, or related field, from an accredited post-secondary institution. General coursework in, and completion of, general surveying and AutoCAD drafting are preferred.
This position will require working outdoor conditions for the majority of your day. You must be physically able to navigate rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the duties described above. Students must possess a valid class D driver’s license and be insurable under the firm’s standard rates. A check of the candidate’s motor vehicle record will be conducted as part of the on-boarding.
