GIS Intern

Description

The GIS Internship position will be responsible for the performance of a variety of manual and technical tasks in the field or office. The GIS Team is part of the IT Division and works to support all city departments. This internship will be seasonal and will last through the summer.

Essential Job Functions

• Developing and using ESRI field applications
• Field data collection with GPS
• Learning how Public Works utilities work together as a system
•  Editing geometry and attributes by way of reading asbuilts
• Opportunity to create maps, story maps, and AGOL applications

Qualifications

•     Familiarity with ESRI suite of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcPro, AGOL
•  Completion of one year of education in a GIS related technical program, GIS degree program, or related field.
•  Possession of a valid and unrestricted MN driver’s license
•  Good verbal and written communications skills
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
•  A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs
• Detail oriented, thorough, and well organized
•   Ability to perform physical demands of the position

Supplemental Information

This is a paid internship that will last from May – August. Maximum of 30 hours per week.
