GIS Analyst Senior
The GIS Analyst – Senior serves as a technical resource to provide mapping, data services, and geographical information system (GIS) process, discipline, and architectural leadership to all City departments.
Departmental GIS Services
- Serve as a technical liaison with City departments.
- Establish standards for City departments’ use of GIS, including design, implementation, publishing, and maintenance of GIS data, applications, and services.
- Provide GIS solutions to departments by translating business needs into technical solutions and ensuring operational readiness.
- Lead departmental GIS implementations by conducting intake, facilitating requirements gathering, defining solution approach/architecture, and coordinating delivery activities, including configuration/development, data readiness, testing, deployment, training, and support transition.
- Provide technical solution architecture for City departments.
- Support and advise City employees approved to use GIS applications.
GIS Development and Maintenance
- Administer, maintain, and support Enterprise Esri Aeronautical Reconnaissance Coverage Geographic Information System (ArcGIS) environments, including configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation to support GIS operations and publishing workflows using Python for ArcGIS and GIS modeling tools.
- Establish repeatable, documented processes for scheduled and on-demand tasks such as dataset builds, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks, and publishing.
- Establish and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and standards to promote consistent GIS configuration, publishing practices, and supportability across City departments.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, including coursework in programming, geography, land engineering, automated mapping, and or GIS, from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of professional-level experience working in a GIS analyst role, including the use of ESRI ArcGIS.
