Job Responsibilities: The Market Planning & Research Department offers an opportunity to work and learn with a group of innovative individuals focused on guiding the growth of the leading drugstore retailer in the US. By providing unbiased research and analysis to help develop and support our company’s growth strategies, individuals from the start are challenged to contribute to the company’s bottom line. As a department we target new and existing market growth opportunities, create growth strategies for markets throughout the US, and work to maximize our potential in each market using the most advanced GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology and business models.

As Walgreens continues to build and benefit from GIS technologies, new opportunities are created. As a Senior Analyst within Market Planning & Research, individuals will be expected to think creatively, explore new technologies, and work with other Walgreen divisions and outside vendors. Duties will include market and site analysis, researching, evaluating and negotiating state-of-the-art analysis tools and services, user training, and performing ad-hoc research to support all and any areas of the company, with a particular focus on Walgreen Health Services. This position provides many opportunities to interact with various departments within the company.

Job Qualifications: We need people, with an in depth knowledge of GIS, who are adept at interpreting complex, sometimes imperfect, data and persuasively presenting recommendations to a diverse group of clients.

-3+ years of experience. Healthcare experience given preference.
-BA/BS Required Major: Geography, Decision Sciences, or Business, other fields of study welcome.
-Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
-Commitment to excellence
-Ability to work independently and as a team member
-Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
-Familiarity with the windows based operating environment
-Demonstrated ability to master GIS skills utilizing ArcGIS 8.x.
-United States citizenship required
