General Job Function:
The Center for Economic Progress’s Advocacy department seeks a highly motivated individual to assist with a spatial analysis of Chicago’s low-income neighborhoods. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in a nascent geographic information systems project. In particular, the intern will be responsible for data compilation and analysis, as well as mapping census-based socioeconomic data and the location of financial service providers. Information gathered through this project will bolster the Center’s efforts to promote progressive tax policy and fight predatory lending practices by enabling us to better target our services and to offer federal, state, and local policymakers a compelling analysis of the economic barriers facing the communities we serve.

Education:
Current graduate-level student in urban planning, public policy, geography, statistics, economics, or business administration. Highly qualified undergraduate students will also be considered.
