The Townsend Lab in the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology is in need of several student hourly employees.

GIS Assistants: We are looking for a student to assist with GIS data handling, manipulation and mapmaking. Coursework in geography / GIS is preferred and experience using GIS software a plus.

Remote Sensing Assistants: We are looking for students to assist us with the processing of remote sensing images (satellite images, digital aerial photographs). Coursework or experience in remote sensing is beneficial, but significant experience using software such as Photoshop is also useful. We will train you.

Other skills we are looking for (but not required) include web/HTML/wiki experience, programming skills, and good organizational skills. Applications are due by December 19 or when positions are filled. The position will start after January 1, 2009. Potential applicants must be a UW student enrolled in the Spring 2009 semester. There is a flexible work schedule of 10-20 hours per week with a pay rate of $10-$12 per hour, depending on experience.
