The Corporate Research, Planning and Development department provides a professional, hands-on experience in geographic information systems (GIS) and healthcare business analysis. The Intern’s role includes assisting in the development of ArcGIS Server-based web sites and basic analytical tools, as well as associated supporting data via ArcGIS Server Java tools in an ArcSDE /Oracle environment. Gundersen Lutheran Information Systems cover a wide range of current technologies and applications.Education/Learning Experience:Required: Must be enrolled in a GIS, computer science, mathematics, or a related field bachelors or masters degree or post-baccalaureate certificate program that provides degree/certificate credit for internship.Work Experience:Desired: Experience in building and maintaining ESRI ArcGIS Server environment web applications.Skills/Knowledge:Required: Strong knowledge and experience with ArcGIS Desktop and geodatabase design.Desired: Experience using ArcGIS Server, ModelBuilder, and ArcSDE; experience with Web development, experience with Oracle and SQL.Licenses/Certifications:Desired: CPR certification.This is an part-time, unpaid internship lasting from January to August of 2009 with 20 hours allocated every two weeks.
