The City of West Bend, a 2007 ESRI Special Achievement in GIS Award winner, is accepting applications for this full time position. The GIS Technician will assist in the development of GIS data and applications with a specific focus on land records management and the access of GIS data and applications using Internet and Intranet based technologies. The successful candidate will have prior working experience in using GIS software, have the necessary people skills to work on team projects and provide support to City staff, and familiarity with land parcel mapping functions. Prior working experience with internet-based mapping applications is also desirable. Must have at least an Associate’s Degree in a related field with two years of experience involving the use of GIS software or a combination of education and experience that provide equivalent knowledge and abilities. Prior experience with ArcGIS, SQL Server and Internet Mapping software such as ArcIMS and/or ArcServer is desirable. Salary range in high $30’s to mid $40’s DOQ. Excellent benefit package.
