Job Description: 80% support watershed planning GIS work including: creation of watershed maps; development ARC GIS Server map services for embedded mapping applet/widgets; development of map services for public consumption; conduct GIS analysis for watershed land use and geographic inventory; and maintenance of watershed planning webpages (.NET technology). 20% Provide general GIS watershed planning mapping and analysis support for statewide customers.
Knowledge Required: Knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1, ArcGIS Server 9.3.1 and server-based GIS including ArcSDE and Oracle databases. Knowledge and experience with cartographic best practices and GIS analysis, web development and ASP.NET programming language. Also important: Ability to work independently, be self motivated and a fast learner, and punctual. Some background in/knowledge of DNR’s Watershed program is desirable.
