The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay currently has one part-time (75% appointment) vacancy for a Natural Areas Coordinator in the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity. The hours for this position are negotiable and may vary according to the departmental needs; however, weekend and/or evening work may be necessary on a limited basis.

This position will have primary responsibility for assisting with the management of natural areas totaling over 1,200 acres, including the Cofrin Memorial Arboretum, Point au Sable Nature Reserve, Toft Point Natural Area, Peninsula Sanctuary, Kingfisher Farm, and Lenfestey Courtyard. Working under the general supervision of the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity Director and in collaboration with the Department of Facilities Management’s Supervisor of Grounds, this position will lead and coordinate invasive species control, trail maintenance, ecological restoration, biological monitoring, signage, and other activities consistent with management plans.  In addition, this position will facilitate research projects and/or field trips at UW-Green Bay natural areas by students, faculty and staff. The Natural Areas Coordinator also will work with Cofrin Center for Biodiversity staff in cultivating volunteer groups that support the management goals of UW-Green Bay natural areas.

Well-qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a natural resource management field or equivalent professional work experience in the management of natural areas.
