Summary:
Performs professional work preparing, revising, implementing and maintaining the County Comprehensive Plan, providing communities participating in the program with current and long-range land use planning, performing current planning efforts and comprehensive planning tasks focusing on administering the subdivision and zoning ordinance requirements, preparing grant applications, project/grant administration and related work as apparent or assigned. Supports planning needs of various other Departments as needed or assigned.
Education Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in planning and zoning, environmental planning, natural resource management, or a field closely related to the duties of the position.
Experience Requirements:
- Two years responsible, professional related, demonstrated working experience in planning and/or zoning field related to the duties of the position highly preferred
- American Institute of Certified Planners Certification preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of grant administration, funding and grant application processes
