Continental Mapping Consultants is a rapidly growing geospatial data services firm headquartered in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin (suburban Madison), with branch offices in Indianapolis, Indiana; Portland, Oregon; and Kansas City, Kansas.
Account Management
With a commitment to increase market share, the primary responsibility of Account Management is to develop relationships with existing commercial and governmental clients as well as source, pursue and close opportunities with new clients. Sales will be done through both channel partners and direct, as appropriate. As part of the sales process, an Account Manager will manage partnering arrangements and drive the strategy, planning and pursuit of those opportunities and build a business strategy to optimize and drive organizational revenue to meet and exceed established financial targets.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate will be an experienced, assertive, outgoing sales professional to represent our growing company. The individual will source, pursue and close business across all service lines. The candidate will work cooperatively with other members of the Business Development team as well as operational counterparts on existing client nurture, proposal development, job estimating, competitor tracking, channel development and competitive trends. This position will report to Business Development.
- Education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in geography/remote sensing/GIS, sales or similar field with 7-10 years of directly related (direct/indirect channel sales) experience or a combination of education and experience equivalent to this, all with a working knowledge of geospatial disciplines. Coursework should be supplemented with sales concepts and methods.
- Experience using online sales methods including social media and lead generation tools and more traditional channels such as direct-mail, phone and face-to-face contact.
- Possess a solid knowledge and understanding of developing and monitoring sales plans to meet lead generation and revenue targets. Hands-on experience in CRM software and other automated systems.
- Ability to plan, organize and function effectively in a dynamic environment, addressing multiple demands from multiple internal and external disciplines.
- Background in market analysis, with the ability to identify target markets, work with research to obtain them and develop acquisition plans to drive revenue.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, particularly strong verbal communication, listening, presentation and negotiation skills. Solid project management skills, report development and understanding of financial and sales data.
- Ability to develop effective relationships with key personnel within existing and new clients.
- Ability to travel extensively within assigned geographic areas and attend trade shows. A valid driver’s license is required.
