Summary:
This position is responsible for the overall management and administration of the Planning and Zoning Department. Performs professional work preparing, revising, implementing and maintain the County Comprehensive Plan, providing communities participating in the program with current and long-range land use planning, performing current planning efforts and comprehensive planning tasks focusing on administering the subdivision and zoning ordinance requirements, preparing grant applications, project/grant administration and related work as apparent or assigned. Supports planning needs of various other Departments as needed or assigned.
Requirements:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in planning and zoning, environmental planning, natural resource management, or a field closely related to the duties of the position.
Experience:
- Five years responsible, professional related, demonstrated working experience in planning and/or zoning field related to the duties of the position required.
- American Institute of Certified Planners Certification preferred, but not required
- Supervision and budget experience highly preferred.
