Assistant Faculty Associate

POSITION:

• Assistant Faculty Associate
• 12-month, full-time fixed-term appointment (with renewal possible) beginning Fall 2013.  

The department is searching for a highly motivated specialist to support and provide instructional activities in GIS and related areas, especially using on-line delivery, as part of the Geography Department’s undergraduate programs.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Master’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Science (GIS), or closely related field required by time of appointment; 
2. At least one semester of teaching experience at the college or university level and
3. Advanced knowledge/experience working with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and Server 10.x.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

1. Experience in working effectively with departmental faculty, students, and/or various campus GIS/IT organizations; and 
2. Proficiencies in three or more of the following:  API for JavaScript, online mapping, geo-processing services, SQL, and Python, as well as in one major statistics and graphics software package.
