Two years experience working with GIS software; database management; developing field protocols and conducting field research. Also updating data for website production, input and application.
Principal duties:
The incumbent is responsible for developing protocols and methods for project data collection and management of research datasets and databases. Expertise in GIS software, such as ArcGIS, is necessary for site selection, landcover analysis, spatial analysis, and map production. In addition, the researcher should have experience with web development and be proficient in creating publishable tables, figures and maps.

Use GIS software (ArcGIS and Google Earth) to select study sites, analyze landcover data, incorporate geophysical data, and conduct landscape spatial analyses.

Manages, maintains, updates and analyzes databases of research results relevant to the project.

Develop protocols and conduct field surveys as well as manipulative field and lab experiments on disease host plants and vector insects. Set up, maintain and collect insect water traps, visual assessment of host plant colonizers.

Use web development software to create and maintain a project website to provide information to collaborators and the general public.

Create tables and figures for manuscripts using Microsoft suite and SigmaPlot. Create maps for manuscripts and publications using ArcGIS and Python.
