ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The GIS Intern participates in conservation data and database maintenance and management.  This may include one or more of the following functions:

  • Maintains and populates data and records databases and manual files
  • Produces maps and/or other graphic products and reports
  • Maintains GIS library and/or database products library

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma and 6 months of related experience
  • Experience maintaining and populating databases and manual files.
  • Experience producing maps and/or other graphic products and reports.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, ESRI ArcGIS products, and using the Internet.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Performing administrative duties emphasizing detail-oriented and numerical tasks including data entry
  • Database and computer spatial or tabular based management skills including managing, maintaining and populating databases.
  • Ability to follow instructions from colleagues

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

  • Position term is June 9, 2014 – August 15, 2014.
