Dewberry is looking for experienced GIS Analysts to provide, potential on-site GIS support for US Army and US Marine Corps installation management requirements. Successful candidates will provide map creation and visualization support, geospatial analysis and services, GPS data collection, GIS data creation and development, geospatial data management, and GIS training in support of facility, master planning, environmental, operations, and training/range decision makers at various locations across the United States.
This position could be based out of the following locations.
Yuma, AZ
San Jose, CA
Barstow, CA
Bridgeport, CA
Camp Pendleton, CA
Oahu, HI
Fort Dix, NJ
West Point, NY
Fort McCoy, WI
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site GIS services in direct support of Government client requirements
- create a variety of digital mapping products using ArcGIS and other desktop software
- gather relevant data from multiple sources
- collect and update installation GIS data in the field using GPS
- create, manipulate, and manage installation-level SDSFIE-compliant geodatabases
- utilize Government provided on-line systems and tools for update and loading of central data repositories
- conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections on newly delivered GIS data
- develop and maintain a complete catalog of all data holdings
- document map and data requests using SharePoint and create monthly reports of activities
- varying level of responsibility and potential oversight of other contract staff, based on previous experience and placement in a Junior, Mid, or Senior Analyst position
Required Skills & Required Experience:
- B.S. degree in Geography, GIS, or related Natural Resources field
- 3 – 5 years experience using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop
- 2 or more years experience supporting Department of Defense Installation GIS requirements
- Experience utilizing, editing and/or managing installation-level SDSFIE geodatabases
- Strong written communication skills
- Proficiency with Windows PC environment and productivity applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access)
DESIRABLE Skills and Experience:
- Experience with collecting/managing Facility Utilization data and conducting Real Property inventories
- Experience using Trimble GPS units and any of the following GPS software Trimble GPS Pathfinder Office, Trimble GPS Analyst, Trimble Positions, Esri ArcPad, and/or ArcGIS for Mobile
- Experience reconciling GIS data with installation real property data
- Experience with AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation software
- Experience with desktop PC design and image editing software such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
