Deputy County Surveyor

Responsible technical work involving the supervision of field survey and drafting personnel in the Land Survey Division of the Public Works Department. 

An employee in this position is responsible as an assistant to the County Surveyor in the planning, coordination and administration of land survey projects in the St. Louis County Land Survey Division. Primary duties and responsibilities include the following: plans and assigns the work of drafting and field survey staff and reviews work for accuracy and compliance to objectives; represents the Division in meetings concerning the explanation and interpretation of legal descriptions, surveys, boundary disputes, etc.; serves as the County Surveyor in their absence; supervises assigned division staff; and assists in setting and monitoring policies and procedures of the work unit. The work is performed within prescribed division guidelines and state statutes under the direction of the County Surveyor.
