This position will assist the City of Superior GIS and Douglas County Land Department staff in collecting and handling geographic data from georeferenced source material, aerial photography, GPS technology and parcel editing from land descriptions.
Knowledges: GIS Education, training and/or experience, with a working knowledge of ESRI software, especially ArcGIS 10 needed.
Ability to: Perform mathematical computations; Efficiently work with a computer; Record, compile, tabulate, summarize and analyze data; Maintain effective working relationships with staff and general public; Use GPS instruments; Explain and dispense technical information tactfully and courteously to the general public; Follow technical oral and written instructions.
REQUIRED: Must be currently enrolled in college in GIS, or closely related field, or be planning to attend in the fall. Must possess valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that can be used when needed to perform duties of position. Must show proof of vehicle insurance. No residency requirement.
