HERE, a Nokia company, is seeking a talented Research Intern to work on Automotive Cloud initiative. The team develops massive real-time event processing and Big Data analytical systems in cloud environment.  In this role the successful candidate will be participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle in Agile environment to ensure successful development and deployment of key components of Automotive Cloud products.
The Intern is responsible for the supporting the research team with spatial and temporal analysis of datasets with the goal of supporting and developing derivative datasets and data algorithms.   The main purpose of this position is to conduct research and analysis on the above-mentioned activities.  This position will directly support the development and production managers/teams within the Automated Driving Team.
 
Responsibilities:
• Generate and test value statement hypotheses for new datasets envisioned to provide entirely new types of functionality for location and time based applications.
• Develop prototype data products and provide performance analysis of product.
• Execute processes to create prototype products.
• Create, maintain, and expand, as necessary, geo-spatial referencing database components.
• Demonstrate knowledge of data manipulation and visualization skills.
• Implement geospatial technology into existing processes in order to utilize and recommend the most effective tools for task completion.
 

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or University degree, Analytics or GIS degree/certification desired.
• Knowledge of GIS, SQL, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, R and other analytic toolsets.
• Ability to run JAVA, Python, database, and XML based tools. Programming/scripting knowledge a plus.
• Strong creative approach to solving new data processing problems with limited guidance.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
