Job Description
Seeking GIS operator candidates to perform a wide variety of geographic information systems support to the LaCrosse Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office staff. Typical duties will include:
- Provide support in photo interpretation, remote sensing, digitization, and aquatic data acquisition
- Develop and maintain aquatic related biological and physical habitat databases
- Transfer fish and wildlife field recorded observations into a spatial environment
- Perform basic spatial analysis and develop aquatic connectivity models to guide fish passage work in target watersheds
- Create maps and graphs for use by office staff.
- Assist in evaluation of biological responses from management actions
- Prepare metadata and other pertinent documentation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Biology, Geography, or similar field with an emphasis on Fish and Wildlife, Aquatics, or Natural Resource Management
- Minimum of one year GIS experience
- Must be proficient in using various software to include ARC GIS (v9.3-10.2.1) and other ESRI products, Microsoft Office programs (especially Access), and Program R.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen
