Job Description:

Support the annual certification of the Department of Transportation’s Wisconsin Information Systems for Local Roads (WISLR) program at the Department of Transportation and biennial Pavement Rating Submittal process! This Local Roads Support Technician – LTE position is located in the Bureau of State Highway Programs, Data Management Section and will start in Fall 2015. 

Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are limited to 1040 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year). Wisconsin residency is required for LTE positions.


Job Duties:   

This position provides a variety of routine scanning and data maintenance duties related to WISLR annual certification and the biennial Pavement Rating Submittal processes. 

The Local Roads Support Technician-LTE will assist with GIS map support such as printing maps and reports for local road certification and providing additional assistance for other projects as needed.

This position will also provide scanning support that includes coding, indexing, scanning and archiving documents that support the certification processes. Scanning will include certified survey maps, legal documents, subdivision plats and other related documents. 

In addition, this position provides database support that requires knowledge of On/At linear reference link/ offset methodology.

Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.


Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   

 

  • Knowledge of various types of file formats (i.e. ArcMap, .pdfs, MS Access, MS Excel, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge and skill using ESRI ArcMap software (GIS)
  • Basic knowledge and skill with On/At (link/ offset) location referencing methodology or other similar linear referencing methodologies
  • Skill and ability to communicate and work in a team environment with attention to detail.
