Job Description/Duties:
Employees in this position perform routine and entry level technical geographic information systems work; create and edit features in a SQL-Server based geodatabase; scan and link documents to map features; update Flex and Javascript-based ArcGIS Server applications. Projects will involve computer data entry; reading and interpreting various maps, plats, legal documents, and engineering plans. Some field work required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants must have an understanding of the principles behind GIS, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and relational databases. Experience with ArcGIS and familiarity with the MicroSoft Office Suite required. Experience with Javascript and programming concepts along with coursework in Geography, GIS or Computer Science. Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and be at least 18 years of age.
Application Information:
Any offer of employment is contingent on passing a background investigation and drug screen. Starting hourly rate of pay is $11 / hour. Duration of position is approximately from mid-May to mid-August. Work schedule is generally 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
