Job Opportunities:

Gas Distribution Asset Management (GDAM) department is looking to hire 4 Gas System Analysts in different workgroups/ roles and locations. 

Gas System Instrumentation:

We are hiring two Gas System Analysts in this workgroup. One position will have a home location at the Company’s office in Elmwood, WI. The other position will be located at the Company’s North Service Center, NSC (Glendale, WI). 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Measurement and Instrumentation (M&I) function within gas operations. The M&I Gas System Analyst is responsible for the installation and operations of equipment used to control and monitor the gas flowing through the gas distribution system. The Analysts in this work group install, test, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain a wide variety of electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic devices including the installation of control equipment associated with Gas Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA). The Analyst may also provide support for equipment such as pressure regulators, system boilers and controls, odorant injection equipment and chromatographs. In addition, the Analyst position may be responsible for the installation and maintenance of volume correcting instruments and telecommunication equipment associated with large volume gas meters and gas transportation customers as well as the inspection and maintenance of the Company’s cathodic protection facilities. 

Knowledge and experience with the operation and maintenance of a natural gas distribution system including gas measurement, pressure control, instrumentation and corrosion control is desirable. Experience as automation or controls technician or electrician with extensive experience may be considered. These jobs require strong trouble shooting skills of technical systems. Electrical and mechanical installation experience is desirable.  Candidates must be available for emergency call-outs and meet company’s driving requirements for driving and DOT required Operator Qualifications. 

The Elmwood Gas System Analyst position will require obtaining National Association of Corrosion Engineers – NACE Level 1 certification. 

Gas Survey Engineering:

We are hiring one Gas System Analyst in this workgroup and this position will be located in Annex office (Milwaukee, WI). 

This Analyst functions as a team member managing leak survey and compliance inspection programs that ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of the gas distribution system. The Analyst monitors program progress, unit costs and performance measures to ensure programs meet regulatory requirements. The Analyst in this workgroup is also responsible for ensuring contract performance and compliance, and validating and approving contractor invoices. 

Gas System Engineering:

We are hiring one Gas System Analyst in this workgroup and this position will be located in Annex office(Milwaukee, WI). 

This Analyst functions as a team member using Geographic Information System (GIS), hydraulic modeling software, and other tools to support GDAM in various areas such as data manipulation and presentation, system performance analysis, data quality control, financial reporting, training, and code compliance activities. The Analyst supports significant gas projects, works independently to identify and resolve data and process problems, and supports the company’s efforts to provide safe and reliable GIS information for gas operations and emergencies. 

An extensive knowledge of mapping/ GPS and GIS software is preferred.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in related technical field is preferred. 
  • A minimum of 2 years as Gas System Associate Analyst or experience in a directly related technical field such as gas distribution operations, mapping/GPS applications, corrosion prevention operations, gas system control operations and/or gas distribution code compliance is required for Gas System Analyst role. 
  • Demonstrates effective analytical problem solving skills and effective oral/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a sound understanding of gas distribution codes. 
  • Knowledge of computer systems and the ability to use a variety of office and engineering software is required.
