POSITION SUMMARY
The Conservation Intern will support a broad range of activities for Chicago Wilderness. This position will assist the Director of Conservation with projects that advance the alliance’s Focus Areas on Oak Ecosystems, Priority Species, Water as a Resource, and Data.
This position is ideal for current students who have a career interest in conservation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Compile and analyze data
Assist with various meeting logistics, setup, and notetaking
Write project reports
Correspond with Chicago Wilderness members and other partners
Assist with ongoing project maintenance
Additional organizational tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Pursuit or completion of degree in a related field (ecology, biology, natural resources, etc.)
Experience working with Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience working with GIS software (ArcGIS and/or QGIS) preferred
Willingness to travel throughout the Chicago Wilderness Region
Ability to work well in a team and independently as appropriate
Enthusiasm for learning
