Job Description:
Langlade County will be accepting job applications for a limited-term Surveyor Assistant position. This position will not exceed 590 hours. Starting wage is $18.00-$22.00 per hour depending upon qualifications. This position will be under the direction of the County Surveyor and the Land Records & Regulations Department Director. The work will run from June through August, 2016.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a High School Diploma and knowledge of surveying practices. Experience in land surveying activities is desired; including operation of modern surveying equipment such as survey grade GPS, robotic total stations and data collectors. Although office time will be limited, familiarity with CAD programs including Carlson Survey with Intellicad and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Access and Excel is beneficial.
Job Duties:
The position can be described as assisting with land surveying field work, particularly in the area of restoration, remonumentation and perpetuation of PLSS corners. Said work will include field traverse work and GPS observations on corners and will require some brush chopping, digging in corner monuments and the use of hand tools for normal surveying activities.
