Job Description:
The Shawano County Land Information Council is seeking applicants for a temporary paid student intern to assist with various GIS projects. This position is located within the Shawano County Technology Services Department.
Position Specifications:
- Not to exceed a maximum of 29 hours per week or 1,100 in a given year.
- $10.50 per hour
- Application deadline May 6th.
Job Duties:
There are multiple projects that the applicant may be assigned depending on the qualifications and skills of the applicant. These project include but are not limited to…
- Creation of a Survey layer and database
- Creation of a Shoreland Zoning layer
- Creation of an Airport protection district layer
- Scanning, registration and rectification of historical aerial photography
Minimum Qualifications Required:
An understanding of GIS data and strong Cartographic skills are expected. In addition, good communication and office skills are required along with a back ground in GIS and familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS Software and Microsoft Office Products. Experience with the Public Land Survey System, surveys (CSM’s, Plats, and Plat of Surveys), COGO, large format scanners and registration/rectification of aerial imagery is a plus.
