Job Duties
Prepares, up-dates, verifies, and maintains accurate ownership and description of information for all parcels of real and personal property in the County. Coordinates real and personal property for assessment and taxation. Researches, identifies and initiates the delinquent tax deed process and responds to related real estate issues. Provides information on parcels of real property in the county for the use of taxation district assessors, city, village and town clerks and treasurers and county offices and any other persons requiring the information. Serves as the coordinator between the county and the taxation districts in the county for assessment and taxation purposes. Provides computer services related to assessment and taxation for the assessors, clerks and treasurers of the taxation districts in the county, including but not limited to data entry for the assessment roll, notice of assessments, summary reports, tax roll and tax bills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, geography, cartography, surveying, or real estate economics with 3-5 years’ experience in assessing, surveying, GIS, County or State government or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Professional Survey Licensure, Assessor’s certification, and/or Title Examiner Certification is desirable.
