University of Wisconsin‐Madison.  

Assistant Professor (tenure‐track) of Geography, tenure‐ track position in GIScience with concentration in geocomputing and spatial analysis and demonstrated understanding of earth surface processes. Appointment to begin August 2017.  

Ph.D. in Geography, Geoinformatics, Geosciences, Environmental Science, Ecology or other allied science required at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to applicants broadly trained in the area of spatial analysis and related emerging technologies. Potential GIScience research areas include, but are not limited to, spatial statistics, spatial data mining, spatial big data analytics, VGI, environmental sensor networks, or unmanned aerial vehicles. Potential application domains within earth surface processes include, but are not limited to, hydrology, eco‐hydrology, or watershed modeling. The successful applicant is expected to develop a strong research program and be able to make a significant contribution to our successful online non‐thesis professional Master’s program and the graduate certificate program in GIS. Teaching requirements include an introductory course in geospatial programming (geocomputing) and courses in advanced spatial analysis/spatial statistics/quantitative modeling.
