Job Description
ISG is seeking an experienced GIS Specialist to work with related software programs to create and maintain data and/or maps that can be combined with geographically referenced data. Tasks may include map production, digitizing, spatial analysis, photo interpretation and over avenues of data production.
Responsibilities
- Create maps for various departments/disciplines (Engineering, Planning, Marketing, Environmental, etc.).
- Meet with project users to define data needs, project requirements, and deliverables.
- QA/QC of geospatial datasets.
- Conversion of CADD and other spatial/tabular datasets into GIS databases.
- Perform watershed analysis using several different types of raster and vector datasets.
- Assist GIS Project Manager with internal and external client requests as needed.
- Physical ability to conduct occasional field work and other duties as assigned by GIS Project Manager or Group Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Science, Engineering, Urban Planning, or similar degree.
- 1 to 3 years of experience working in ESRI’s ArcGIS software stack.
- Proficient with raster dataset analysis, especially as it relates to water resources management.
- Understanding of cartographic principles and the ability to develop production quality maps.
- Ability to edit geospatial data in ArcGIS 10.3+
- Applied knowledge of the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst extensions.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Solid understanding of metadata requirements/standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python and/or modelbuilder as it relates to geospatial data.
- Understanding of ArcSDE and versioned editing workflows.
- Javascript programming capability.
- Knowledge of CADD systems such as Bentley or AutoDesk and how they work interchangeably with ArcGIS products.
- Adobe Create Suite experience, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
