GIS Intern

Description:

This position will help provide GIS support across operations divisions.

Duties:

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

• Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from staff and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS.
• Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
• Analyze geographic relationships among varying types of data.
• Present information to users and answer questions
• Performs field observations using drone technology

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must currently be pursuing a degree in Geography or Geographic Information Systems. Prior experience with Geographic Information Systems, or GIS, or related software systems and programs to create and maintain data and/or maps are preferred. Other qualifications include a strong attention to detail, showcasing a high level of accuracy along with organization skills, excellent customer service, and maintain open communication with internal and external customers.
