Job Description:
Jackson County is looking for a County Surveyor to join our team! This position is responsible for administration of the Land Information Department, establishing and maintaining global positioning system monuments, surveying County land, providing land information support, and answering questions from the public. Executes duties of a County Surveyor as listed in Wisconsin State Statute 59.45. Serves as Land Information Officer (LIO). Updates and monitors “Land Information Modernization Plan.” Develops and coordinates mapping system. Applicant must possess and maintain knowledge in Global Positions System (GPS) technology.
Job Requirements:
Must be a registered and licensed Wisconsin Land Surveyor. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Public Land Survey System (PLSS) monument recovery and restoration, experience with AutoCAD, GPS software, Microsoft Office, and possess a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license. Must be knowledgeable of Department of the Interior, and Bureau of Land Management’s Manual of Surveying Instructions.
