Job Description:
Symbiont, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a multi-disciplined, employee-owned engineering and consulting firm that offers challenging and rewarding growth opportunities to our employees. Symbiont’s industrial clients are located throughout the United States and include top-brand brewing, beverage bottling, and dairy companies. Symbiont’s municipal clients are generally located in Midwestern states such as Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.
Our Milwaukee office is seeking a full-time GIS Specialist. The ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and approximately one to three years GIS experience, strong academic credentials, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent personal and academic references. Experience in the consulting industry is preferred but not required.
Job Duties:
- Develop and manage GIS databases.
- Database conversion.
- Create and maintain web-based GIS project sites.
- Geodatabase management, cartography, spatial data creation, and analysis .
- GPS data collection using Trimble units, post-processing and manipulation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- ESRI software (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online) including tools and databases such as Model Builder, Shapefiles, Geodatabases
- MS SQL Server (ArcSDE)
- Asset Management software implementation.
- GIS principles and software
- Database design, information needs, and metadata development standards.
