Job Description:
This student hourly position will involve editing and analyzing GIS data to support an effort to develop a database of well construction records. Primary responsibilities will include data-entry and spatial editing of subsurface geologic records from water well construction records in a Microsoft Access and ESRI File geodatabase environment. There could be additional responsibilities and extension of employment dependent on job performance.
Work will take place at the WGNHS office at 3817 Mineral Point Road, Madison, Wisconsin. You will be expected to work at least 20 hours per week, and you may work up to 40 hours per week if you so choose. Rate of pay for this position is $12 per hour. WGNHS office hours are from 8am to 4:30 pm.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, have familiarity with editing data using ArcMap 10.x, an interest in geology or natural resources, and a possess minimum of two years undergraduate education in geography or the natural sciences with some GIS coursework.
Requirements:
Must be a student in a UW system school. Include relevant coursework (GIS, geology, hydrogeology, earth science) in your cover letter or resume.
