The specialist will be responsible for developing spatial analysis exercises, teaching spatial analysis exercise sessions, providing data, methodology, and technical support to students and faculty working on problems with a spatial analysis component, and managing a research GIS Lab, including supervising to students working in the lab and maintaining and upgrading hardware and software in the GIS lab.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have a master’s degree in Geographic Information Science, Master’s in Geography with at least 6 related credit courses, or be a PhD candidate with at least 6 related credit courses.
We seek applicants with 3+ years experience applying geospatial analysis in research or real-world projects, proficiency ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.3 or above and ArcGIS Online, experience with spatial statistics software (e.g., GeoData), and some teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience administering ArcGIS Online, experience with ArcGIS for Server, using mapping or survey grade GNSS handhelds, Python.
This is a part-time (24 hours/week) temporary position, beginning August 1, 2017 and continuing to July 31, 2018.
