Position Summary:
The Geospatial Division of Ayres Associates is seeking candidates for a new Project Manager role within our Waukesha or Madison office in Wisconsin. Ayres Associates has been an important fixture in the geospatial industry for over 50 years and our recent investments in mapping technology have opened up many new opportunities for the company. The Aerial Mapping group desires to add this full-time Project Manager position to support the team with diverse project management responsibilities as the company prepares for continued growth in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. The successful candidate will have an active role in managing a wide range of geospatial projects and will help the team pursue opportunities with new clients and emerging markets.
Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will report directly to the Manager of the Aerial Mapping group. The Project Manager may work from either office location with expectations for frequent travel within southern Wisconsin, Illinois, and other nearby states. The Project Manager will independently seek and develop new leads and opportunities as well as support on-going business development efforts. The Project Manager will frequently meet with clients, participate in conferences, and occasionally lead presentations on a wide range of geospatial applications.
Importantly, the Project Manager will collaborate with staff throughout the Geospatial Division: aerial mapping technicians, surveyors, and other project managers. There will also be opportunities to work closely with professionals from disciplines and offices at Ayres Associates. Typical Project Manager responsibilities include project estimation, documentation, progress reporting, accounting, and client maintenance. The Project Manager will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting project reports generated by information management software and participate in progress discussions with the management team on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess Bachelor??s degree in geography, remote sensing, land surveying, or other related discipline and have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience. Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills will be essential, as the successful applicant will frequently interact with wide range of public and private clients. Candidates should anticipate occasional travel; a valid driver??s license and good driving record are required. Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Other desirable experiences or skills include:
- Experience with business development.
- Experience with the acquisition or application of geospatial data (aerial imagery, LiDAR, etc.).
- Background in asset management applications
- Experience with municipal mapping applications and/or utility industries.
- Professional certification in geospatial industry or related discipline (CP, GISP, etc.) is a plus.
