Monitoring GIS Support LTE

Job Summary & Duties:

The Monitoring GIS Support LTE will provide GIS and web support for Water Quality Monitoring, Watershed Planning, and overall Water Quality program activities, as well as fulfill objectives of the FY15 Water Quality Exchange Grant funded by US EPA. 

Duties:

• 50% Creation, maintenance and/or enhancements of Map Products, Map Services, and public-ready visual displays of water quality monitoring and assessment data served through the web; including Surface Water Data Viewer, the Water Condition Viewer, and Watershed Plan Maps. 
• 30% Assist in designing spatial data flow procedures between DNR and external systems as part of the Federal Exchange grant. Help prepare various spatial datasets for upload to databases, assist in QA/QC process, and generate automated reports based upon the data. Manage and display data or results in various spatial viewers and web pages. Collaborate with technical programming staff to automate processes or fulfill other programming needs 
• 20% Creation of support documents and GIS maps for baseline, targeted and evaluation studies as part of the Monitoring Strategy, as well as fulfilling mapping requests from the Water Quality program generally.

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have experience and an excellent working knowledge of ArcGIS for Server and Desktop 10.3, Enterprise Datasets, Feature Classes, Map Documents, Map Services, and emerging GIS technology and issues. 
• Ability to work effectively and in collaboration with colleagues, volunteers and DNR Partners. 
• Effective communications skills and the ability to present ideas (including technical information) orally and in writing for a variety of audiences
